A former Richland High School teacher who also worked as an assistant coach at the school has resigned amid a police investigation into allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to Birdville ISD officials.

North Richland Hills police confirmed they are investigating the allegations involving the former educator, whose identity was not disclosed in the department’s public statement.

In an email sent Monday to Richland High families, Principal Nathan Frymark said district officials contacted police after learning of the allegations and reported the matter to other appropriate authorities, including the Texas Education Agency.

“The safety and well-being of our students are always our highest priority, and we take such matters very seriously,” Frymark wrote.

The former employee has resigned and no longer works for Birdville ISD, according to the email. District officials said federal privacy laws prevent them from discussing specifics about personnel matters.

Frymark also urged families to respect the privacy of the student and family involved and avoid sharing information that has not been substantiated by investigating agencies.

In a public statement, North Richland Hills police said detectives are continuing to gather evidence.

“We remain committed to allowing our team to gather evidence and conduct a thorough investigation,” police said.

The department said additional details would be released as the investigation progresses.

A former Richland High School teacher who also worked as an assistant coach at the school has resigned…

[10
116,118,117
post-469605","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-fort-worth","tag-fort-worth","tag-fort-worth-headlines","tag-fort-worth-news
["GET
