In Section 332 of American Airlines Center, a sea of green united fans who drove from Fort Worth, took the train from Coppell or walked from Uptown to make the 7:30 p.m. Tusday puck drop as the Dallas Stars<\/a> took on the Colorado Avalanche.\u00a0<\/p>\n Five years from now, their commutes could look different.<\/p>\n The NHL franchise is\u00a0planning a move<\/a> from the AAC to Plano after over two decades sharing the Victory Park arena with the Dallas Mavericks.\u00a0<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Plano is committing $700 million<\/a> toward an estimated $1 billion arena that the Stars are interested in leasing for 30 years when the team\u2019s lease is up in Dallas in 2031.\u00a0<\/p>\n Plano officials have asked voters to consider five venue taxes\u00a0\u2014 on tickets, event parking, car rentals, hotel rooms and major league teams using the venue\u00a0\u2014 to help cover the cost<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Here\u2019s what Dallas Stars fans in Section 332 had to say about the arena plans and Nov. 3 tax election<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n A rendering for the proposed new development for the planned Dallas Stars arena and entertainment complex.\u00a0<\/p>\n Courtesy of Centennial<\/p>\n Follow the money<\/p>\n David Enriquez, 45, lives in Fort Worth and attends a few Stars games a year.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n \u201cThe Stars can make more money in that part of town than any other part of town,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s more where the wealth is in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n Don\u2019t tax the fans<\/p>\n Todd St. Clair, 55, lives in Coppell and attended the game with his brother, David, 58, who lives in Fort Worth.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThey don\u2019t need to tax the fans if they want them,\u201d Todd said of Plano. \u201cTax your residents.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPlano will be reaping the rewards of increased tourism,\u201d David said. \u201cI don\u2019t think they should tax the fans or the tickets or even the team.\u201d<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n Either city works<\/p>\n Katie Gallant, 30, of Dallas, said the arena\u2019s location makes little difference to her.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m happy if it\u2019s here or Plano,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t care. I\u2019ll be there.\u201d<\/p>\n Related: Plano residents rally against arena tax as Dallas Stars fund competing campaign<\/a><\/p>\n Willow Bend revival<\/p>\n Ellie Aguilar, 52, came to the AAC from Plano Tuesday night.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n \u201cI would vote for it,\u201d Aguilar said.<\/p>\n He hopes the project could revitalize The Shops at Willow Bend site.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very desolate \u2026 that area should be thriving.
