Mandatory Credit: James Carey Lauder-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>            James Carey LauderImagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Nikolaj Ehlers scored the go-ahead power-play goal in the third period as the Carolina Hurricanes rallied for their seventh straight victory, defeating the host Winnipeg Jets 3-2 on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Ehlers put Carolina ahead 3-2 with a power-play slap shot from the high slot at 6:43 of the third period for his first of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Jankowski and Jesperi Kotkaniemi also scored, and Shayne Gostisbehere had two assists for the Hurricanes. Pyotr Kochetkov made 21 saves and improved to 5-0-0 on the season.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Scheifele and Alex Iafallo scored for the Jets, who have lost two straight games and three of their last four. Clay Stevenson made 34 saves.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets outshot the Hurricanes 10-8 in the first period. Carolina didn\u2019t register its first shot on goal until the 5:26 mark.<\/p>\n<p>Scheifele put Winnipeg ahead 1-0 at 4:23 of the second period on a backhanded shot. It was also the Jets\u2019 first shot of the period and extended Scheifele\u2019s points streak to five games.<\/p>\n<p>Jankowski tied the game 1-1 at 8:19 when Logan Stankoven set him up for a wrist shot through traffic on the power play.<\/p>\n<p>Iafallo gave the Jets a 2-1 lead at 10:59 when Adam Lowry intercepted Kochetkov\u2019s attempt to play the puck behind the net and set him up for a tap-in.<\/p>\n<p>Kotkaniemi knotted the score back up 2-2 at 16:50 when he tipped in Gostisbehere\u2019s shot from the blue line.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Carolina won 55.2% of the faceoffs, and they outpaced Winnipeg in takeaways 6-4. Most importantly, they put a lot more pressure on the net with 37 shots compared to the Jets\u2019 23 attempts.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets have now lost back-to-back games; they suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
