The family of Xavier Hernandez joined civil rights advocates at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. <\/p>\n
Sunday afternoon, the group called for greater accountability and transparency in law enforcement use-of-force cases.<\/p>\n
The rally was hosted by Texas LULAC and Justice4Xavier and brought together families from across Texas to call for law enforcement reform.<\/p>\n
Hernandez died on July 13, 2025, following an encounter with El Paso law enforcement.<\/p>\n
His family has raised questions about the use of force, restraint procedures and the circumstances surrounding his death.<\/p>\n

Asking for help should never put your life at greater risk,\u201d Lujan said.<\/p>\n The rally followed an Oct. 2 meeting between Lujan, LULAC leadership and El Paso County District Attorney James Montoya.
