Invasions! The ongoing drama over It Ends With Us! It’s no wonder that folks in the U.S. want to ditch 2026 entirely and self-soothe through some nostalgic retail therapy. Whether looking for a frothy disco LP, a Mortal Kombat T-shirt, or a funky sconce, hop into our time machine to explore San Antonio’s best retro shops.

GG’s Emporium
If your parents never let you blow your allowance on a Millennium Falcon, consider this Blanco Road toybox your permissive aunt. Splurge on a complete set of She-Ra action figures, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles playset, or a deck of Garbage Pail Kids cards. Or rifle through custom pop culture creations like horror movie pillows or “weird dolls” kits featuring Barbie’s most terrifying fashion faux pas. With piles of comics and VHS tapes, GG’s is a latchkey kid fantasy. The only thing missing is pizza rolls.

Sisters in the Park
This Olmos Park hideaway, owned by real-life siblings Sharon Gregory and Sandra Mathis, is as jumbled as Paris’ famed flea markets, though you’ll never have to haggle while a vendor puffs on a Gitane. Shelves are stocked with midcentury art glass, kitschy barware, and Mexican silver. And the mannequins are dressed in some surprising designer finds like a stunning Giorgio di Sant’Angelo gown that slinks like molten copper. We suspect those steely-eyed ingenues have nefarious goals once the lights go out. At least, they’re dressed to kill.

Eclectic Vinyl
This West Side shop has only been open for a year, but in some ways it seems like it’s been around forever. That owes a little to the merch on the walls, a mix of retro skateboard decks and hip-hop and hardcore band posters. The actual records give a broader range of genres from electro-boogie to, uhm, the Chipmunks’ ill-advised decision to go punk. Audiophiles can cancel Spotify and stock up on refurbished vintage equipment for their listening den.

Grey Moon Vintage
This Broadway News treasure started in a 1969 Avion trailer, but recently took over a more permanent space in the food truck park. The spot is packed with throwback finds like quirky purses and the occasional objet d’art, but the shop’s stock in trade is grail T-shirts from a raglan tee featuring Willie Nelson to a banger brandished with Xena the Warrior Princess.

Retro Metro
While one can find some serious furniture at this Denver Heights shop, it has quickly become a favorite for dopamine decor. A brass unicorn might never make the pages of Architectural Digest, but it’s just the accessory that takes a home from meh to wow. Other feel-good finds include a horseshoe cowboy swinging a barbed wire rope, rainbow afghans, and a red crushed velvet chair fit for a bordello. There are plenty of affordable fixer-uppers, too, if you’re handy with a paintbrush or Mod Podge.

Inflation!
