This can be anything from a Texas driver’s license or an LTC all the way to a U.S. passport.

Now, listen carefully. Cell phones are not allowed in a room where voting machines happen to be. You can still answer phone calls or texts, but you need to be outside of the room and at least 100 feet away from any voting station in order to do so.

Besides the fact that phones buzzing and ringing are super distracting for people trying to concentrate, recording devices and cameras are prohibited under Texas law from being near voting machines. Nobody likes a peeping tom, and everyone is free to vote for whoever they please without judgement.

When it comes to clothing, the only rule is that you do not wear anything that promotes a certain political party or candidate, even if that person is nowhere on the ballot.

For example, anyone walking into a polling location here in Lubbock wearing a “Paxton 4 Senate” hat will be politely asked to remove it before they can enter and cast their ballot.
