Cardholders will be prompted to log in with their library card and pin before booking and may check out one culture pass per venue per day, according to the website. Venues can be visited twice a calendar year. Some attractions may admit multiple people per pass.

Programming librarian Amy Watterman said the program allows residents that might not be able to afford going to the offered experiences a chance to go for free.

“We want people to experience the art and culture that is here in Arlington,” Watterman said.

She said passes can be booked on the library website, and once residents arrive at the selected location, they must show their pass, email confirmation, library card and identification to make sure passes are not duplicated.

Watterman said the program had a soft launch on Sep. 1 followed by its hard launch on Oct. 1, and the turn out and response from the partnering venues has been good so far.

She said residents can attend places they have not been to or heard of before and enjoy visiting locations that they otherwise wouldn’t have access to.

“We want people to be a tourist in their city to visit these places,” Watterman said.

Through the program residents can visit the following attractions:

Arlington Master ChoraleInternational Bowling Museum and Hall of FameRiver Legacy Nature CenterSymphony ArlingtonUTA Planetarium

@_xioany_

news-editor.shorthorn@uta.edu

The Arlington Public Library has created a program to give residents free access to visual art exhibitions, historical…

[10
992,116,118,117,223
post-471207","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-fort-worth","tag-city","tag-fort-worth","tag-fort-worth-headlines","tag-fort-worth-news","tag-news
["GET
