Yes, please

Dallas entrepreneur Paige Pasta loves old things. Couches. Coffee tables. Rugs. Candlesticks.

“I have a very specific love for glassware,” she said, gesturing to a table of dainty breakables inside a duplex-turned-retail store that opened in mid-September 2026 in East Dallas. The first items she bought for the store were antique wine glasses.

How perfect: More than a place to buy thrifted treasures, Vintage Wine Bar is also a place to drink.

Visitors can order a glass of wine, then traipse through the rooms filled with Pasta’s eclectic picks from estate sales, resale shops, garage sales and Facebook Marketplace. The store feels like a friend’s house, with mismatched chairs and lamps positioned around an old fireplace, and art hung on olive green and chocolate brown walls.

Vintage Wine Bar has already become a meetup spot in Lakewood for mahjong games and women’s happy hours. In addition to wine, the shop sells cheese-and-meat boards, bread, olives and cookies.

Some customers might grab a seat with friends and find themselves staying longer than a typical 15-minute shopping jaunt. Pull up a chair, Pasta tells them.

“What’s great about this furniture is it’s all moveable,” she said. And, it’s all for sale.

Pasta once put her funky collectibles in her own homes. She renovated three old houses in East Dallas in the past decade. Throughout that time, she worked full-time as the vice president of sales for a software company. She took a leave of absence in November 2025, looking for a change.

“I started Googling, ‘How to relax after being chronically stressed,’” she said, laughing a little. “I learned I was not very good at relaxing.”

Two weeks later, Pasta had written a business plan to open a wine bar inside a vintage store. A month later, she was pregnant with her second child. It was a thrilling, busy and stressful year, Pasta said. Her baby was born 28 days before Vintage Wine Bar opened.

About 70% of the bar’s wines were made by female winemakers, a “women-supported” initiative that’s important to Pasta. She isn’t a wine expert — nor is she trained as an interior designer. “I don’t have a rule book,” she said of picking vintage pieces. “I buy what I love.” It’s true of the wine she drinks, too.

As customers visit, some of Pasta’s treasures will go home to new owners and she’ll be left to fill empty corners with second-hand pieces once again. Pasta seems satisfied in her new artistic venture.

“I created something I can constantly redesign,” she said.

Vintage Wine Bar is at 5832 Live Oak St., Dallas.
