Well, Tuesday, October 27th, is shaping up to be a pretty interesting day in Lubbock.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump<\/a> and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico<\/a> are both scheduled to hold separate political rallies right here in the Hub City on the very same day.<\/p>\n

And considering that Talarico is running against Republican Ken Paxton<\/a>, who Trump is coming to Lubbock to support, the timing is certainly interesting.<\/p>\n

The two events aren’t connected, and the candidates won’t be appearing together. But with early voting already underway in Texas, Lubbock is about to get a whole lot of attention from both sides of one of the state’s biggest political races.<\/p>\n

Here’s what we know about the separate events, including times, locations and how to attend.<\/p>\n

President Trump will visit Lubbock on Tuesday, October 27th, 2026, for a campaign rally supporting Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s bid for the U.S. Senate.<\/p>\n

The Republican National Committee<\/a> confirmed the visit on Monday, October 19th.<\/p>\n

According to the official event announcement, the schedule is:<\/p>\n

11 a.m. – Doors open1 p.m. – Rally program begins2:30 p.m. – President Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks<\/p>\n

The exact location has not been officially announced.<\/p>\n

The Lubbock Chronicle<\/a> reports that a source identified the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center as the possible venue, but that remains unconfirmed. The Republican registration page still lists the location as “To Be Announced.”<\/p>\n

Anyone planning to attend should check the official event page before making arrangements.<\/p>\n

Registration is currently limited to four tickets per signup.<\/p>\n

Trump is also scheduled to hold another rally in Waco at 6 p.m. that evening, making Lubbock the first of two announced Texas stops that day.<\/p>\n

Later that same day, Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico will hold a community rally on the Texas Tech University<\/a> campus.<\/p>\n

Talarico’s event is part of his statewide “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts Tour<\/a>,” which his campaign is using to encourage voter turnout ahead of the November election.<\/p>\n

Unlike the Trump rally, Talarico’s event already has a confirmed location.<\/p>\n

Talarico rally details:<\/p>\n

Date: Tuesday, October 27th, 2026Location: Frazer Alumni Pavilion<\/a>, 2680 Drive of Champions, LubbockDoors open: 6 p.m.Program begins: 7 p.m.Scheduled event: 7\u20139 p.m.<\/p>\n

According to the campaign, parking in the Commuter North lot is free after 5:30 p.m. Additional off-campus parking and nearby bus routes are also available.<\/p>\n

The event listing says the location meets ADA accessibility standards. Attendees with specific accessibility questions can reply to their registration confirmation email.<\/p>\n

Talarico’s campaign is encouraging supporters to bring their “I Voted” stickers and invite friends.<\/p>\n

Why Are Both Campaigns Coming to Lubbock?<\/p>\n

The answer is pretty simple: Texas has a major U.S. Senate election coming up, and people are already voting.<\/p>\n

Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico are competing for the Senate seat currently held by John Cornyn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paxton, Texas’s attorney general, won the Republican nomination after a contentious primary contest. Trump endorsed Paxton during the Republican runoff campaign.<\/p>\n

Talarico is a Democratic state representative from the Austin area who has made affordability and economic issues central themes of his Senate campaign.<\/p>\n

Both campaigns are working to reach voters ahead of the November 3rd general election.<\/p>\n

And apparently, both have decided that Lubbock is worth a visit on October 27th.<\/p>\n

The city has long been a Republican stronghold, but Texas Tech also brings a large student population into the mix. The two rallies will give local residents opportunities to hear from the campaigns in person.<\/p>\n

Another important detail: Texans don’t have to wait until Election Day to cast their ballots.<\/p>\n

Early voting began Monday, October 19th, and continues through Friday, October 30th.<\/p>\n

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.<\/p>\n

Texas voters receive a general-election ballot that includes candidates from different political parties, and they can vote for candidates from either party in individual races.<\/p>\n

Information about voting requirements, locations and election procedures is available through the Texas Secretary of State’s VoteTexas website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Could This Be a Busy Day Around Lubbock?<\/p>\n

It’s certainly possible.<\/p>\n

The president’s visit could bring additional security arrangements and traffic considerations, depending on the final location and event preparations.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Talarico’s evening rally will bring campaign activity to the Texas Tech campus.<\/p>\n

As of this writing (October 20th), detailed traffic plans and parking instructions for the Trump event have not been announced.<\/p>\n

For anybody considering attending either event, checking for updates beforehand would be a good idea.<\/p>\n

President Trump will be in town during the afternoon to support Ken Paxton, while James Talarico will address supporters at Texas Tech that evening.<\/p>\n

Whatever your political affiliation, it’s a notable day for the Hub City, particularly with the election just a couple of weeks away.<\/p>\n
