Gina Hinojosa has announced her candidacy for governor of Texas.<\/p>\n<p>In a video posted on social media, she began with the words &#8220;No te dejas,&#8221; meaning &#8220;Don&#8217;t let yourself&#8221; in Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>She is the sixth person to announce a campaign to challenge Gov. Greg Abbott.<\/p>\n<p>Hinojosa is a five-term state lawmaker from Austin.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Senate candidate Colin Allred endorsed Hinojosa shortly after her announcement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Democratic State Rep.
