{"id":472648,"date":"2026-10-21T21:40:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-21T21:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/472648\/"},"modified":"2026-10-21T21:40:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T21:40:09","slug":"texas-bans-a-fan-who-made-obscene-gesture-at-florida-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/472648\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas bans a fan who made obscene gesture at Florida players"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUSTIN, Texas (AP) \u2014 Texas has banned a fan who made obscene gestures to Florida players after the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/texas-florida-football-score-b7a84b41540a0da0a3667879b2bddbc3?utm_source=copy&amp;utm_medium=share\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gators defeated then-No. 7 Texas 27-24<\/a> from attending future games at the Longhorns&#8217; stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte made the announcement Wednesday in a newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn closing, I want to address the video circulating on social media showing unacceptable behavior by an individual who had the privilege of field access following Saturday\u2019s game,\u201d Del Conte wrote. &#8220;We pride ourselves on sportsmanship and treating our opponents with respect. This individual\u2019s actions did not reflect those values or meet our standards and will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe matter has been addressed internally, and I want to personally apologize to the University of Florida and its entire football program. Having access to our field comes with a responsibility to represent Texas with class and respect.
