Dan Patrick made a brief campaign stop in Lubbock Wednesday morning, calling the upcoming midterms the most important election yet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Patrick, who heads the Texas Senate, is running for a fourth term. He said a trio of Democrats are running against West Texas values.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Patrick addresses data centers<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On the topic of data centers, Patrick said the state needs to regulate bad actors when the Legislature reconvenes in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAnd as I\u2019ve told the data center industry, this is your Bud Light moment,\u201d Patrick said. \u201cYou\u2019ve really messed up. And Budweiser hasn\u2019t recovered. And if you all don\u2019t get with the program and take care of the local communities, and sit down and tell people what you\u2019re doing and how they benefit from it, and give them the right to decide if you\u2019re going to build it, then you\u2019re going to be like Budweiser. You\u2019re going to be kicked to the side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Democratic challenger<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Democrat Vikki Goodwin is challenging Patrick for his seat. She is a state representative from the Austin area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Goodwin\u2019s campaign focuses on education funding reform and restricting the growth of AI data centers.
