{"id":472710,"date":"2026-10-21T22:52:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-21T22:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/472710\/"},"modified":"2026-10-21T22:52:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T22:52:12","slug":"texas-bans-a-fan-who-made-obscene-gesture-at-florida-players-orlando-sentinel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/472710\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas bans a fan who made obscene gesture at Florida players \u2013 Orlando Sentinel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUSTIN, Texas (AP) \u2014 Texas has banned a fan who made obscene gestures to Florida players after the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/texas-florida-football-score-b7a84b41540a0da0a3667879b2bddbc3?utm_source=copy&amp;utm_medium=share\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gators defeated then-No. 7 Texas 27-24<\/a> from attending future games at the Longhorns\u2019 stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte made the announcement Wednesday in a newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn closing, I want to address the video circulating on social media showing unacceptable behavior by an individual who had the privilege of field access following Saturday\u2019s game,\u201d Del Conte wrote. \u201cWe pride ourselves on sportsmanship and treating our opponents with respect. This individual\u2019s actions did not reflect those values or meet our standards and will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe matter has been addressed internally, and I want to personally apologize to the University of Florida and its entire football program. Having access to our field comes with a responsibility to represent Texas with class and respect.
