If you haven’t been to South Plains Mall<\/a> lately, you might be surprised by some of the new businesses popping up.<\/p>\n

And no, I’m not talking about another place to buy a phone case. Although, let’s be honest, there’s probably always room for one more of those.<\/p>\n

South Plains Mall has announced several new retailers and attractions, including a luxury fashion brand at Dillard’s, a boutique specializing in desert-inspired clothing, a chocolate shop featuring a viral internet sensation and even a place where you can test your luck with claw machines.<\/p>\n

With the holiday shopping season approaching, the mall is making some changes that could give Lubbock shoppers a few more reasons to visit.<\/p>\n

Tory Burch Is Coming to Dillard’s at South Plains Mall<\/p>\n

Probably the biggest name in the announcement is Tory Burch<\/a>, the luxury fashion brand known for its designer handbags, shoes, accessories and clothing.<\/p>\n

South Plains Mall says Tory Burch is being introduced at Dillard’s<\/a>, giving Lubbock shoppers access to a brand that previously might have required a trip to a larger shopping market or an online order.<\/p>\n

For anybody unfamiliar with Tory Burch, the company was founded in 2004 and has become one of the more recognizable names in American designer fashion.<\/p>\n

And yes, if you’ve ever wondered why some handbags cost more than your first car, this might be a good opportunity to do some research.<\/p>\n

Creations Brings Desert-Inspired Fashion to Lubbock<\/p>\n

Another addition is Creations<\/a>, a boutique that describes its style as a “Boutique in the Desert.”<\/p>\n

The company operates 15 locations across Texas, Colorado, Arizona and California, with clothing and accessories influenced by the Sonoran Desert.<\/p>\n

Think bohemian fashion, distinctive patterns, interesting accessories and styles you probably won’t find hanging on every other rack in town.<\/p>\n

Creations will also offer personalized styling assistance from employees who can help shoppers put together outfits.<\/p>\n

So, if your wardrobe could use something beyond the same three shirts you’ve been rotating since 2019, here’s another option.<\/p>\n

Two more specialty businesses are joining the mall’s retail lineup.<\/p>\n

Pretty Girls Nail Bar<\/a> will focus on fashionable press-on nails, offering shoppers different designs and styles without necessarily committing to the same look for weeks.<\/p>\n

Press-on nails have become increasingly popular, particularly with people who like changing their nail designs frequently.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Gift Garden<\/a> will specialize in whimsical artificial floral arrangements.<\/p>\n

Unlike traditional flowers, these arrangements don’t need water, sunlight or somebody remembering to take care of them.<\/p>\n

Which, speaking as someone who has managed to kill plants that were supposedly impossible to kill, sounds like a pretty good selling point.<\/p>\n

The arrangements are designed as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.<\/p>\n

ChocoJoy<\/a> is joining South Plains Mall with chocolate-covered fresh fruit and a variety of toppings.<\/p>\n

The business is also embracing the viral Dubai chocolate trend, which has become a social media sensation.<\/p>\n

If you’ve somehow missed it, Dubai-style chocolate is generally associated with rich chocolate, pistachio cream and crispy pastry filling. Videos featuring the candy have attracted enormous attention online.<\/p>\n

The mall’s announcement doesn’t specify ChocoJoy’s complete menu, but it does promise fresh fruit drizzled with chocolate and topped with different add-ons.<\/p>\n

In other words, there’s another place in Lubbock where you can convince yourself you’re making a healthy decision because there’s fruit involved.<\/p>\n

Shopping isn’t the only thing getting an upgrade.<\/p>\n

Kon-Ni-Chi-Claw<\/a> is bringing a collection of claw machines filled with prizes to the mall.<\/p>\n

The attraction is designed for families, friends and even date nights.<\/p>\n

You know those machines where you maneuver a claw over a stuffed animal, press the button and watch it slip out of the claw’s grip at the very last second?<\/p>\n

Yeah. Those.<\/p>\n

Except now you’ll have a new place to demonstrate your incredible confidence in a game that has probably humbled all of us at least once.<\/p>\n

According to South Plains Mall Senior Marketing Manager Ashley Knox, the additions are part of an effort to expand the mall’s shopping and entertainment options.<\/p>\n

The mall also expects to welcome additional seasonal retailers and specialty merchants as the holidays approach.<\/p>\n

Holiday activities, special events and visits with Santa are also planned.<\/p>\n

The announcement did not provide specific opening dates or individual store locations for all the new businesses, so shoppers should check for updates before making a special trip.<\/p>\n
