The South Plains Collectors Con is coming to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Halloween, October 31st, and Sunday, November 1st.

We’ll get to the meat and potatoes of this event in a minute, but first, let’s get to the big headline.

Pinhead will be in Lubbock on Halloween!

Actor Paul T. Taylor, who portrayed the legendary horror character in the tenth installment of the Hellraiser franchise, Hellraiser: Judgment, is listed as a special guest.

I have to admit, it’s pretty exciting to have a horror icon in town for Halloween. He may not be the original Pinhead (that would be Doug Bradley), but he’s still part of one of horror’s most recognizable franchises.

Who knows what kind of hell he might unleash while visiting the Hub City?

Now, about the actual event.

The South Plains Collectors Con is billed as a “fun-filled Comic Con and TCG Card Show.” I think most fans already know what to expect from these kinds of events, but let’s just say this one leans pretty heavily into trading card games.

The event will feature tournaments, vendors, gaming areas, trading spaces, cosplay, collectibles, comic books, special guests, and more.

I would expect the cosplay to be especially epic considering the event takes place on Halloween weekend. I mean, if there was ever a perfect time to show up dressed as your favorite character, this would be it.

The convention runs Saturday, October 31st, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, November 1st, from noon to 6 p.m., at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

So how about it? Can you take a little time away from trick-or-treating to hang out with Pinhead and the Pokémon?

Just remember, if somebody hands you a mysterious puzzle box, you might want to leave that thing alone.

Lubbock Restaurants That Closed in 2026 (So Far)

From fast food to mom-and-pops, and from upscale to a breakfast burrito favorite, here is a look at Lubbock restaurants that have closed so far this year.

Gallery Credit: Renee Raven

Lubbock Crime Rates vs. Surrounding Areas: Which Cities Are Safest?Think of moving slightly out of Lubbock? This is how our surrounding areas compare to Lubbock crime rates, according to crimegrade.org, which looks at both property and violent crime in its rankings.
