{"id":47367,"date":"2025-11-13T02:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T02:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/47367\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T02:51:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T02:51:10","slug":"schertz-etj-voters-choose-land-use-regulations-over-annexation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/47367\/","title":{"rendered":"Schertz ETJ voters choose land use regulations over annexation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tVoters in Schertz\u2019s extraterritorial jurisdiction, or ETJ, overwhelmingly chose to have the city enforce land use regulations over full annexation.<\/p>\n<p>What happened<\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 4, voters decided on <a href=\"https:\/\/public.destinyhosted.com\/agenda_publish.cfm?id=72437&amp;mt=ALL&amp;get_month=8&amp;get_year=2025&amp;dsp=agm&amp;seq=4376&amp;rev=0&amp;ag=852&amp;ln=19964&amp;nseq=&amp;nrev=&amp;pseq=4351&amp;prev=0#ReturnTo19964\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Proposition A<\/a>, which determined if certain areas in the ETJ within 5 miles of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph would be annexed into the city or subject to land use regulations. Only voters within that area could vote on the proposition.<\/p>\n<p>A total of <a href=\"https:\/\/results.enr.clarityelections.com\/TX\/Bexar\/124351\/web.345435\/#\/summary?category=C_3&amp;subcategory=C_3_2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">109 of 114 voters<\/a> in the ETJ, or 95.61%, voted for the option to enforce the regulations. The remaining five voters chose full-purpose annexation by the city.
