{"id":473802,"date":"2026-10-22T21:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T21:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/473802\/"},"modified":"2026-10-22T21:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T21:30:08","slug":"jersey-village-city-council-to-discuss-city-campus-project-cy-fair-jersey-village","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/473802\/","title":{"rendered":"Jersey Village City Council to discuss City Campus project | Cy-Fair &#8211; Jersey Village"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jerseyvillage.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jersey Village<\/a> City Council members are slated to consider the Guaranteed Maximum Price, or GMP, with construction company Brookstone LP for the first phase of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jerseyvillage.gov\/392\/City-Campus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">City Campus<\/a> project during the Oct. 27 regular meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In a nutshell<\/p>\n<p>The GMP is $8.1 million, with a total cost for City Campus phase one of $9.5 million including construction, architecture and engineering fees, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jerseyvillage.gov\/AgendaCenter\/ViewFile\/Agenda\/_10272026-419\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">meeting documents<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No new city debt was issued ahead of the agreement, as phase one of the payment plans was adopted in the FY 2026-27 budget on Aug. 18 as previously reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/cy-fair-jersey-village\/government\/jersey-village-city-council-approves-fiscal-year-2026-27-property-tax-rate-increase-municipal-budget\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Community Impact<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dec. 1 is the anticipated notice-to-proceed date, and construction should take eight months to complete, according to meeting documents. Phase one of the City Campus project includes:<\/p>\n<p>Some context<\/p>\n<p>The City Campus project has seen three unsuccessful bond proposals in 1990, 2002 and most recently in November 2025; ultimately, the council chose to move forward with a pay-as-you-go approach as opposed to issuing new debt for the project.<\/p>\n<p>City staff recommended three alternates, already included in the GMP, totaling $167,919 for council consideration:<\/p>\n<p>Also on the agenda<\/p>\n<p>The council plans to discuss the designated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.h-gac.com\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Houston-Galveston Area Council<\/a>, or H-GAC, representative and alternate for the 2027 general assembly, which will be held in December 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Various purchases are also up for council approval, ranging from backhoe replacements to IT service renewals.<\/p>\n<p>The Jersey Village City Council is slated to meet Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Civic Center Auditorium at 16327 Lakeview Drive, Jersey Village, for a regular meeting.
