{"id":473956,"date":"2026-10-23T00:24:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T00:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/473956\/"},"modified":"2026-10-23T00:24:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T00:24:08","slug":"blue-october-to-perform-in-lubbock-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/473956\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue October to perform in Lubbock Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; Blue October will perform in Lubbock Friday night, celebrating 20 years since the release of their breakthrough album \u201cFoiled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lead singer Justin Furstenfeld said building the album\u2019s signature sound was personal, after the band\u2019s label gave him one last chance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">TICKETS: <a href=\"https:\/\/buddyhollyhall.org\/event\/blue-october\/164\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/buddyhollyhall.org\/event\/blue-october\/164\/\">Blue October at Buddy Holly Hall<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cInstead of freaking out and being like \u2018oh my god, I have to write a hit,\u2019 I was just like&#8230; I don\u2019t care,\u201d Furstenfeld said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI was trying to make sense of depression and substance abuse and alcoholism and heartache and&#8230; and I got to really write it and produce it like I wanted to produce it, which was an essence of R&amp;B and an essence of Michael Jackson meets REM meets Radiohead,\u201d Furstenfeld said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The concert will <a href=\"https:\/\/buddyhollyhall.org\/event\/blue-october\/164\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/buddyhollyhall.org\/event\/blue-october\/164\/\">take place at the Buddy Holly Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cFoiled\u201d went platinum in 2007, with two platinum singles, \u201cHate Me\u201d and \u201cInto the Ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The band will play the entire album, followed by a second set of other songs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The concert starts at 8 p.m. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/buddyhollyhall.org\/event\/blue-october\/164\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/buddyhollyhall.org\/event\/blue-october\/164\/\">buy tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
