Photo by Emmanuel Pizano<\/a><\/p>\nThe Arlington Museum of Art introduced a new exhibit called \u201cArlington 150: Stories of a Legacy\u201d last weekend exploring Arlington\u2019s history through a collection of donated and loaned objects. <\/p>\n
Kendall Quirk, registrar and director of exhibitions at the Arlington Museum of Art, said the exhibit provides something new and interesting for visitors. The opening reception was Oct. 17, and Quirk said people were excited about the exhibit and reacted positively to what they saw. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that we provided information for people who absolutely know nothing about Arlington, but then people who know so much about Arlington, we hope they learn something too,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
The museum was approached by the city to partner for their 150th campaign and worked for about eight months to put everything together. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe tried to reach back even further than the 150 years to really go into as much detail as possible and give people a really great idea of what Arlington has been throughout its history,\u201d Quirk said. <\/p>\n
She said it depends on the visitor as to how they\u2019d like to experience the exhibit and that the museum provided a significant amount of information for every type of visitor to appreciate. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you’re a person who really likes to read the backstory to things, we’ve done everything that we can to provide text and relevant information about the different objects that visitors will see,\u201d Quirk said. <\/p>\n
She said the museum has objects relating to cars and historical items about the Texas Rangers. <\/p>\n
\u201cArlington 150: Stories of a Legacy\u201d will run until Feb. 28 of next year, and a $10 general admission ticket will cover access to the exhibit. <\/p>\n
