Let’s face it. San Antonio is king when it comes to tacos, but we don’t have a variety of bagels<\/a> to pick up from. One Connecticut-based bagel concept is about to add more options to the Alamo City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PopUp Bagel, a pandemic era creation from Adam Goldberg out of Westport, Conn., has been rapidly expanding across the U.S. in recent years. The latest location\u00a0 was first teased earlier this April, and it looks like bagel fans won’t have to wait much longer now.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The brand, known for its viral “rip and dip” methodology, filed permits through the State of Texas to renovate their upcoming space at\u00a07959 Broadway Street, Suite 506 near Alamo Heights in late September.<\/p>\n

The scope of work will include alterations to the existing 1,645-square-foot space into a new bagel shop including mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, per the filing. Construction was slated to begin October 19, 2026 and is expected to run through December 16, 2026\u00a0 \u2014 so you may get bagels for Christmas if all goes according to plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That said, construction timelines are estimates, but the PopUp Bagel Instagram account did tease out the locations on October 21. The post read, “Austin! Columbus! San Antonio!\u00a0hot bagels coming soon\u2026 stay tuned\ud83d\udc40”<\/p>\n

The Austin location, also announced in April, is heading to the Domain Northside, at 11501 Rock Rose Ave., Suite 152,\u00a0Austin, TX 78758. Filings for that show a matching price tag of $350,000, and a completion date of September.<\/p>\n

Bagel fans are ready to rip into a bagel with creator Jackie Gonzalez not hiding her feelings, “SAN ANTONIO???
