DALLAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 11 counterfeit Richard Mille watches shipped from China at the Dallas-Fort Worth International airport.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Had the watches been genuine, the shipment would have had a suggested retail price of $2.6 million, CBP officials said.<\/p>\n

The Chinese shipments were headed to several locations across the southeastern United States.<\/p>\n
Trade experts at CBP’s Center of Excellence and Expertise examined the items and determined they were fake.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Authorities seized the watches for having counterfeit versions of registered trademarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The sale of fake goods often funds criminal organizations involved in money laundering, drug trafficking, and other illicit trade,” CBP Area Port Director Jayson Ahern said. “Our CBP officers are on the front lines every day guarding against defrauders, while protecting legitimate American businesses who are often harmed by these criminal organizations.”<\/p>\n
