Early voting is underway in Bexar County, and like other major metros in the state, polling locations are seeing an at-times record-breaking influx of voters. This has led to long wait times across San Antonio and beyond, and the Bexar County Elections Department has shared a major update to one of its newest tools.

The Early Voting Elections Wait Times map, launched earlier this week, now includes a range of wait times per location. Previously, the map only showed zero to 15-minute increments up to 45 minutes of estimated waits.

Given the long lines documented across the city at various polling sites, the wait times weren’t always reflective of the time commitment required to go vote.

In a post on Thursday, October 22 at 7:35 p.m., the Bexar Elections Department thanked residents for their feedback and provided updates and a disclaimer on wait times.

“Thank you for sharing your thoughts about our new Election Wait Times app. We’ve listened and made a few updates to help make the tool clearer and more useful for voters. Wait time estimates have been extended to provide a better picture of what you may experience at each voting location.”

The post goes on to note the disclaimer added to the site.

“A disclaimer has been added when you click on a poll site to remind voters that wait times are estimates and may change based on voter turnout and other factors. This tool was created to enhance your voting experience—not add stress. Wait times can change quickly, so please use the information as a planning tool rather than a guarantee. Keep sharing your ideas! We appreciate your patience and feedback as we continue to navigate, improve, and enhance this new app.”

According to the Elections Department, the early voting total to date as of Thursday was 176,761 with another 17,594 mail-in ballots received.

The polling locations with the lowest turnout as of Thursday include Pan American Branch Library (876), St. Phillips College (894), Southwest ISD Admin Building (962), Somerset City Hall (1,115) and St. Hedwig City Hall (1,256). The busiest branches so far include Cody Branch Library (4,958), Maverick Branch Library (5,152), Encino Branch Library (5,383), Northwest Vista College (6,014) and Brookhollow Branch Library (6,432).

Early voting is underway in Bexar County, and like other major metros in the state, polling locations are seeing…

[8
847,820,82,84,83
post-474752","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-antonio","tag-mysanews","tag-mysastaff","tag-san-antonio","tag-san-antonio-headlines","tag-san-antonio-news
["GET
