{"id":475042,"date":"2026-10-24T02:02:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-24T02:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/475042\/"},"modified":"2026-10-24T02:02:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-24T02:02:10","slug":"houston-leads-the-nation-in-millionaire-renter-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/475042\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston leads the nation in millionaire renter growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The number of millionaire renter households in Houston jumped from 18 to 232 between 2020 and 2024, increasing a whopping 1,189%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentcafe.com\/blog\/rental-market\/market-snapshots\/millionaire-renters-trends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">RentCafe<\/a> said in a new report. That puts the city at the forefront of millionaire renter growth in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Houston was followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridaagentmagazine.com\/slideshows\/the-avenue-financing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Naples, Florida<\/a>, where the number of millionaire renter households increased 986%, from seven to 76.<\/p>\n<p>Across the country, there were 5,592 millionaire renter households in 2020. By 2024, that number had grown to 18,400. That\u2019s a 229% increase, compared to a 193% increase for millionaire homeowner households during the same time frame.<\/p>\n<p>About half of those millionaire renters are <a href=\"https:\/\/houstonagentmagazine.com\/2025\/04\/10\/millennial-homebuyers-value-quality-over-space\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">millennials<\/a>, followed by 33% Gen X and 14% Baby Boomers. In comparison, millionaire homeowners are 45% Gen X, 33% Baby Boomer and 19% millennial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeing a growing segment of renters who aren\u2019t renting because they have to \u2014 they\u2019re renting because they want the lifestyle that comes with a luxury, full-service residences coupled with the extensive amenities,\u201d said M.
