Dallas County reported more than 248,000 in-person voters, while Bexar County, home to San Antonio, recorded nearly 177,000. In Central Texas, Travis County reported more than 158,000 in-person voters.

Those county totals do not include mail-in ballots.

Harris County also marked a historic start to the week, with more than 104,000 people voting on Monday alone, setting a first-day turnout record for a midterm election.

The strong turnout comes amid earlier concerns about a voter registration backlog linked to software issues at the Texas Department of Public Safety.

However, Harris County election officials said the voting process has been running smoothly.
