{"id":47629,"date":"2025-11-13T06:53:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T06:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/47629\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T06:53:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T06:53:10","slug":"district-8-pasha-mediterranean-grill-serves-free-meals-to-tsa-officers-during-government-shutdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/47629\/","title":{"rendered":"District 8, Pasha Mediterranean Grill serves free meals to TSA officers during government shutdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">SAN ANTONIO \u2013 San Antonio District 8 showed appreciation for federal employees affected by the government shutdown by partnering with a local restaurant to provide free meals on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">With the help of Pasha Mediterranean Grill, more than 100 TSA officers and air traffic control staff were treated to a free meal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cThis was just our way of giving back,\u201d District 8 Councilwoman Ivalis Meza Gonzalez said. \u201cWe know our federal employees have gone through a lot this last month and a half, and so we were trying to figure out what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">On Wednesday night, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/business\/2025\/11\/12\/house-returns-for-vote-to-end-the-government-shutdown-after-nearly-2-months-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">House passed a bill<\/a> to end the nation\u2019s longest government shutdown, sending the measure to President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Bilal Deiri, co-owner of Pasha, said he hopes the community can support one another during difficult times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cEveryone always needs help, right?
