{"id":476362,"date":"2026-10-25T15:10:07","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T15:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/476362\/"},"modified":"2026-10-25T15:10:07","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T15:10:07","slug":"dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-seek-legal-action-against-my-chemical-romance-nbc-boston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/476362\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders seek legal action against My Chemical Romance \u2013 NBC Boston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The parent company of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcboston.com\/tag\/dallas-cowboys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a> Cheerleaders is seeking legal action against My Chemical Romance after the band performed alongside dancers in costumes resembling the iconic cheerleading team\u2019s uniforms this week.<\/p>\n<p>Pro Silver Star, which owns the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand, filed a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction Friday in District Court in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcboston.com\/tag\/dallas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Dallas County, Texas<\/a>, to bar the alternative rock band from using the costumes on stage.<\/p>\n<p>My Chemical Romance, best known for its 2000s hits \u201cTeenagers\u201d and \u201cWelcome to the Black Parade,\u201d performed Wednesday at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with dancers wearing outfits that appeared nearly identical to the squad&#8217;s iconic white and blue outfits, according to the court filing.<\/p>\n<p>The dancers carried what appeared to be rifles and engaged in a staged firefight, \u201conly to be depicted being shot,\u201d the filing states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAudience members and online commentators understandably believed that the performers were the real Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and said so in social media posts that continue to circulate,\u201d Pro Silver Star wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The company said it was \u201cnot litigious\u201d and \u201ctakes no issue with MCR\u2019s music, its artistic ambitions, or any message Defendants seek to convey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSilver Star asks only that those performers not wear the DCC Uniform while doing it,\u201d the filing states. \u201cThe universe of alternative costume designs is effectively unlimited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representatives for the band and Pro Silver Star did not immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>My Chemical Romance is on tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of its third studio album, \u201cThe Black Parade.\u201d The band is scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Bowl again on Saturday evening and twice over Halloween weekend. <\/p>\n<p>Joe Kottke contributed.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThis year the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are adding a new accessory to their uniforms.
