Sixteen households evacuated after flooding in the Enchanted Hills neighborhood have returned to their homes, but one family remains displaced according to District 1 City Representative and Mayor Pro Tempore Alejandra Ch\u00e1vez.<\/p>\n
Ch\u00e1vez provided an update Sunday morning following severe weather that caused flooding near Dawnlight on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are coordinating with Environmental Services, our Streets and Maintenance Department, and all of our first responders,\u201d Ch\u00e1vez said. \u201cSixteen houses were evacuated, but they are back in their homes, and we are just helping do the cleanup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ch\u00e1vez said one family has been displaced because their home is no longer habitable. She said officials will continue working through the details to assist those affected.<\/p>\n
The flooding prompted an emergency response Saturday evening after a reservoir overflowed near Dawnlight, according to the City of El Paso Office of Emergency Management.<\/p>\n
The American Red Cross and Sun Metro were called in to assist affected families. City officials previously said all evacuated residents had a safe place to stay.<\/p>\n
In the video, Ch\u00e1vez also addressed concerns about future damage. <\/p>\n
\u201cI am calling for a thorough review of what occurred here and what improvements need to be made, so this doesn’t happen again,\u201d Ch\u00e1vez said.<\/p>\n
The severe weather also prompted a water rescue involving a vehicle on South Desert Boulevard and forced the early conclusion of the city’s D\u00eda de los Muertos celebration. Officials reported no injuries in the water rescue.<\/p>\n
The city has urged residents to remain cautious around wet or flooded roads and to never attempt to drive through standing or moving water.<\/p>\n
