ORLANDO — The University of Houston Soccer team snapped UCF’s five-game winning streak and their undefeated home slate with a 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.

The win is only the third for Houston (10-3-4, 6-2-1 Big 12) over UCF (10-4-1, 5-3-1 Big 12) and just the second win in Orlando for the Cougars.

Houston’s win marked the 10th of the season which is the first time since 2021 the Cougars have posted double digit victories in a season. The sixth conference win is a first since 2001 when the Cougars went 6-4 in Conference USA play.

The Cougars got on the board in the 12th minute when sophomore Bailey Cate cleaned up a mishandled UCF clearance. It was the seventh goal of the season for Cate to lead the Cougars. UP NEXT − UHCougars.com –
