AP Photo\/Matt Slocum<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the press conference, a reporter asked why he was so brief.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou seem a little short. Not as exuberant as you\u2019ve been in the past is everything ok?\u201d the reporter asked to close the press conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNope, I\u2019m great,\u201d Schottenheimer responded. \u201cExcited for our guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, though, confirmed that the head coach was upset.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely hungry, pissed off version of Shotty\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RalphVacchiano\/status\/2114934045574627424\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Prescott revealed<\/a> after the \u201cMNF\u201d win. \u201cIt\u2019s not like he\u2019s naive. It\u2019s not like he hadn\u2019t heard some noise about him. And whether it\u2019s the call in the games or whatever doubt that\u2019s been out there. But we\u2019ve got his back. He knows that. He\u2019s a guy that takes a lot of pride in his job, a lot of pride in this team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been plenty of discourse about Schottenheimer\u2019s use of his offense, as Dallas has run the ball the fourth fewest times in the NFL.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Schottenheimer came out with a clear goal against the Eagles, sending Javonte Williams out there for 25 carries, by far the most times this season, and his 155 rushing yards are a single-game career high.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They also got backup Tyler Goodson acclimated to the offense with 10 carries of his own for 38 yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"   data-modal-image=\"41534185\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/dallas-cowboys-quarterback-dak-prescott-146596014.jpg\" alt=\"Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott looks on after a game against the Philadelphia Eagles.\" class=\"wp-image-41534185\"\/>Dak Prescott revealed that the Cowboys\u2019 head coach was pissed off after a dominant win.  IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>Among critics of Schottenheimer include Cowboys radio personality <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/articles\/uh-oh-probably-not-too-055552550.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Shan Shariff<\/a>, who suggested that the Cowboys head coach hand over play calling duties to offensive coordinator Klaytoh Adams.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The frustration stemmed from the Cowboys passing the ball 54 times against the Packers in Week 6 in a 23-13 loss but they\u2019ve appeared to reverse course on that strategy this week.<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys face the beatable Cardinals next week in Dallas, looking to get back to .500 and gain ground on the first-place Giants in the NFC East.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Brian Schottenheimer kept things short and tense.
