If you haven\u2019t visited the Sixth Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House, buy your ticket. Once again, 26 of the country\u2019s top designers went above and beyond to create statement-making rooms that represent what\u2019s new and noteworthy in the interiors arena.<\/p>\n

Though the location is the same \u2014 the sprawling French Renaissance\u2013style estate at 2999 Turtle Creek Blvd.\u2014 the vibe feels entirely new. Rooms are more intimate, palettes richer, and the overall mood lush, layered, and inviting.<\/p>\n

\u201cReturning to the same home for a second year presented an exciting creative challenge, and it\u2019s been remarkable to see how our designers have reimagined the estate through entirely new perspectives and ideas,\u201d said James Druckman, President of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.<\/p>\n

Call it a master class in reinvention \u2014 seven fresh interpretations you\u2019ll want to bring home.<\/p>\n

Ceiling Treatments<\/p>\n

There were more reasons than ever to look up. Statement-making ceilings were everywhere \u2014 from the hand-painted, folk-inspired mural in Sarah Stacey\u2019s \u201cThe Last Room\u201d to the bold patterned wallpaper in Joshua Bernard Design\u2019s \u201cThe Long View\u201d hallway.<\/p>\n

Dallas-based Yates Desyn, whose principals Mike Yates and Bryan Yates served as Kips Bay Dallas alumni chairs, created the \u201cParlour,\u201d ingeniously outfitting it with brass \u2013 most notably, the mesh ceiling fixture.<\/p>\n

Statement-Making Lighting<\/p>\n

Light fixtures played a starring role throughout the home. Our pick for most memorable: the luminous globe anchoring J.D. Ireland\u2019s \u201cRumor Room\u201d \u2014 just one of the room\u2019s many focal points.<\/p>\n

We also loved the hand-blown glass chandelier in Design by Tula\u2019s \u201cEmerald Room,\u201d which designer Tula Summerford says \u201cbathes the room in a tender, warm glow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luxe Texture<\/p>\n

Velvet, alpaca, mohair, and silk made tactile statements throughout the Show House. From the green velvet sofa in Nicole Gordon Studio\u2019s \u201cOverlook Hideaway\u201d to Sandra Jordan\u2019s alpaca drapery and moir\u00e9 silk walls in Ellerslie Interiors\u2019 \u201cMoonlight Pavilion,\u201d every surface invited touch.<\/p>\n

Cozy, Intimate Spaces<\/p>\n

Say goodbye to sprawling, open floor plans \u2014 and hello to intimate, human-scale spaces. Nearly every designer carved out corners meant for retreat, reflection, or quiet conversation.<\/p>\n

Even the terrace by Lisa & Leroy embraced the shift. Individual curtained cabanas featured cozy seating for an indoor-outdoor moment that felt like a private hideaway.<\/p>\n

Games Galore<\/p>\n

Whatever your game of choice \u2014 mahjong, backgammon, poker \u2014 there was a Kips Bay room designed for play. One of the standouts: Doniphan Moore Interiors\u2019 \u201cThe River Room.\u201d Named after the final card draw in Texas Hold\u2019em, the space swapped a conventional bar atmosphere for layered textures, wry humor, and a cinematic palette of midnight blue and cognac.<\/p>\n

Animal Instincts<\/p>\n

In both fashion and interiors, animal motifs never go extinct \u2014 they evolve. Proof: Tracery Interiors\u2019 \u201cThe Lion Queen,\u201d where supersized, stylized patterning gave animal print a sophisticated edge.<\/p>\n

Philip Thomas Vanderford of Studio Thomas James took a more subtle approach, upholstering twin Klismos chairs and a Donghia Versailles bench by John Hutton in a fabric aptly named Hear Me Roar. The playful accent added a wink of personality to his elegant \u201cBelvedere Room.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unexpected Extras<\/p>\n

Designer Lori Paranjape of Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors said it best: \u201cMy space is me, completely unsupervised.\u201d Her over-the-top men\u2019s restroom and adjoining lounge \u2014 \u201cJaded FlamBOYance\u201d \u2014 was a maximalist paradise featuring snakes on the ceiling, a dog statuette guarding the entrance, unconventional art, dramatic wallpaper, and a trompe-l\u2019oeil mirror.<\/p>\n

Other unforgettables included Sarah Stacey\u2019s sculptural fireplace, Doniphan Moore\u2019s convex mirror, Yates Desygn\u2019s bespoke wall mural, and Joshua Bernard Design\u2019s blue chrome art installation.<\/p>\n

Christopher Architecture & Interiors\u2019 \u201cLa Cuisine Divine\u201d \u2014 A marble island and backsplash from Francois & Co. that transformed the kitchen into a temple of stone.<\/p>\n

Mohon Interiors\u2019 \u201cEvening Lounge\u201d \u2014 Draped in shimmering metal bead curtains.<\/p>\n

Katharine Pooley\u2019s \u201cThe Study\u201d \u2014 Suspended artwork curated to feel \u201clike a collection assembled over a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n
