{"id":479361,"date":"2026-10-28T14:42:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-28T14:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/479361\/"},"modified":"2026-10-28T14:42:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-28T14:42:09","slug":"weather-warn-thursday-friday-for-heavy-rain-strong-storms-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/479361\/","title":{"rendered":"Weather Warn Thursday &#038; Friday for Heavy Rain &#038; Strong Storms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) \u2014 The KFOX14 Severe Weather Team has issued a Weather Warn through Saturday as showers and storms are expected to bring periods of heavy rain to parts of the Borderland Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Moisture associated with Tropical Storm Vance is expected to move north from Mexico and combine with a passing weather disturbance, helping fuel showers and storms across the region. <\/p>\n<p>Vance is forecasted to weaken as it moves along Mexico\u2019s western coast, but some of its moisture could still reach the Borderland. <\/p>\n<p>A marginal flash flood risk, or 1 out of 4, includes El Paso and Las Cruces as well as parts of southern New Mexico. <\/p>\n<p>Heavy downpours could cause localized flooding, especially where storms repeatedly pass over the same areas, or in places with poor drainage.<\/p>\n<p>Stay weather aware and check for updates as the forecast develops. If you encounter a flooded road, turn around, don\u2019t drown.
