In the back of the house, the meat is prepped and sliced fresh, arriving at the table in thin, perfect rolls designed to cook quickly in the hot pot broth.

Kimchi is made in house, brined, dried and rubbed with seasoning before fermentation does the rest, and it sits alongside cucumbers and daikon radish on a loaded self-serve line that also includes tteokbokki stir fry, sesame balls, popcorn chicken, fresh fruit and sago made with coconut milk, jellies and tapioca. At the table, thinly sliced brisket, beef belly, and beef tongue go into the hot pot with dumplings and other add-ins, and a full bar turns out cocktails including shareable “fish bowls” built for at least two people.

Texas Eats 2026 (KSAT 2026)TEXAS EATS HALLOWEEN | THE SCREAM EXPERIMENT

123 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205

The Scream Experiment is a year-round haunted attraction in downtown San Antonio that combines immersive storytelling, live actors, and theatrical scares inside the fictional Restful Sleep Hotel. Guests become participants in a paranormal investigation as they navigate dimly lit hallways, encounter mysterious spirits, and uncover the secrets behind a series of unexplained deaths. Developed by Phillips Entertainment, the attraction offers a horror experience that relies on practical effects, detailed sets, and interactive performances to keep visitors on edge.

Unlike traditional seasonal haunted houses, The Scream Experiment operates throughout the year, giving thrill seekers a chance to experience spooky entertainment beyond Halloween. The attraction is recommended for older children and adults looking for a suspenseful and highly immersive adventure in the heart of downtown San Antonio.

Texas Eats 2026 (KSAT 2026)TEXAS EATS HALLOWEEN | THE GRIM BAKERS

4522 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78201

The Grim Bakers is a year-round horror-themed bakery at Crossroads Mall and one of the only concepts of its kind in Texas. Co-owner Manny Martinez said the shop is the first year-round horror-themed bakery in the country, which he’s glad to have pioneered. You may also recognize Manny from his win on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship in 2024. The theme never takes a break: no matter which holiday is on the calendar, the menu gets adjusted with a spooky twist.

The anatomical heart cake comes with a choice of vanilla or chocolate cake with mousse, enrobed in a chocolate shell. House made lemonades, called vein drains, are served in biohazard blood bags, and the brain-dead sundae hides a surprise under a fully edible sculpted shell made of white chocolate, right down to shortbread cookie fingers. Three specialty drinks round things out: the Campfire Massacre, a Black Forest-inspired Fang Banger and the Witching Hour Ube.

Texas Eats

Exclusive sneak peeks, giveaway details, and more food!

Follow Texas Eats and David Elder on Facebook and Instagram for more food info, pictures, videos and giveaways.

Copyright 2026 by KSAT – All rights reserved.

You can watch “Texas Eats NOW” Mondays through Saturdays at 10 a.m. – Saturdays and Sundays at 11…

[8
49,88011,354,82,84,83,9248
post-479595","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-antonio","tag-food","tag-local-business-spotlight","tag-restaurants","tag-san-antonio","tag-san-antonio-headlines","tag-san-antonio-news","tag-texas-eats
["GET
