{"id":480210,"date":"2026-10-29T09:14:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T09:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/480210\/"},"modified":"2026-10-29T09:14:17","modified_gmt":"2026-10-29T09:14:17","slug":"hinojosa-holds-final-el-paso-rally-ahead-of-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/480210\/","title":{"rendered":"Hinojosa holds final El Paso rally ahead of elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EL PASO, Texas (<a data-ylk=\"slk:KTSM;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"http:\/\/ktsm.com\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">KTSM<\/a>) &#8212; With under a week to go before the midterm election, gubernatorial candidates for Texas are holding their final rallies in El Paso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Democratic nominee for Texas Governor, Gina Hinojosa, is in the Sun City on Wednesday, Oct. 28, with incumbent Greg Abbott expected to stop on Thursday, Oct. 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Her event is expected to kick off at 6 p.m. at the Epic Railyard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Prior to her rally, Hinojosa visited the University of Texas at El Paso and spoke with students about some of her campaign topics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hinojosa, like other Democratic candidates, is hopeful to flip Texas blue, with polls showing her race with Abbott to be a close one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She had some of El Paso&#8217;s top Democrats join her, including U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, and former Congressman Beto O&#8217;Rourke on UTEP campus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As well, the Governor of New Mexico, Michelle Lujan Grisham, joined Hinojosa to show her support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The polls say this is a competitive race in a stronghold for the GOP.
