{"id":481300,"date":"2026-10-30T10:32:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-30T10:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/481300\/"},"modified":"2026-10-30T10:32:29","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T10:32:29","slug":"el-paso-county-sheriffs-deputy-accused-of-distributing-drugs-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/481300\/","title":{"rendered":"El Paso County sheriff\u2019s deputy accused of distributing drugs in jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a class=\"fn-kicker\" href=\"https:\/\/gazette.com\/category\/news\/crime\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n            Crime        <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n        Published October 29, 2026 3:25pm\n            <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An <a href=\"https:\/\/gazette.com\/tag\/el-paso-county-sheriffs-office-2\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"93158\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">El Paso County sheriff\u2019s<\/a> deputy is accused of distributing contraband to inmates at the jail while he was on duty, the Sheriff\u2019s Office announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nicholas Guerrette, a jail guard, had been under investigation for months before his arrest and has been placed on unpaid administrative leave. <\/p>\n<p>\n        Recommended Stories<br \/>\n        \u25b6\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives became aware of alleged contraband distribution in November 2025 and later determined he transferred \u201ccontraband and illicit drugs,\u201d according to the Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is unclear what type of drug he is accused of distributing.
