(Courtesy Brunch & Bloom)On the menu

Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, Brunch & Bloom’s menu features items that put a spin on classic dishes, such as the deep-fried smoked gouda grits, breakfast fried rice and the BBLT, which uses beef bacon instead of pork bacon.

“We wanted to create an elevated brunch experience for Humble, so you didn’t have to go to Midtown, Downtown or The Woodlands,” Kwan Johnson said. “Along with our chef, we curated a menu that kind of infuses different pieces of where we’ve been and what we like.”

The menu also features an expanding section of vegan options, and Executive Chef James Watford is able to accommodate other dietary restrictions, such as gluten sensitivities.

Menu items range from pancakes and French toast to lobster tails and lamb chops. (Courtesy Brunch & Bloom)What’s special about it?

In addition to a carefully crafted menu, the Johnsons said the restaurant itself was designed with inclusivity in mind. The blue used throughout the upscale eatery is the same shade associated with autism awareness. The owners also purposely have a section of the restaurant where the music is quieter.

“When families come in here with kids that require special attention and might be overstimulated, we try to sit them on that side of the restaurant … that way the whole family can get out and enjoy and not worry about any disruptions,” Kwan Johnson said. “So it’s a place where everybody can be welcome and [it’s] inclusive to all.”

In the spirit of giving back, the Johnsons also partner with Humble ISD’s culinary program and have donated meals to various organizations and nonprofits. The restaurant can also be booked for private events and has a network of vendors for clients to work with.

Brunch & Bloom Executive Chef James Watford previously served as Olympic gymnast Simone Biles’ personal chef.
