However, the coverage of showers will continue to expand from south to north throughout the region through Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Z4254AAAQBGD3GUAQ6AGNAOAJA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"545\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The National Weather Service adjusted the Flood Watch, removing several counties across the northwestern South Plains after those areas received less rainfall overnight than anticipated. The watch remains in effect for other portions of the region.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/GRCWGXQS3ZBT5MJPMYYBZ7NI2U.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"564\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Additional rainfall amounts through Friday are expected to range between 0.50 to 1.00 inches across the region. Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue through much of the day, with rain chances persisting through Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/NRSCITMR3VBBDA67OPC33GSZ4U.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"518\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Periods of heavy rainfall are still possible, particularly over southern portions of the South Plains and Rolling Plains during the morning hours.
