Upcoming projects<\/p>\n
Hwy. 71, Hamilton Pool Road, Bee Cave Parkway intersection improvements<\/a><\/p>\n Project: The project will include improvements at the Hwy. 71, Hamilton Pool Road and Bee Cave Parkway intersection. Proposed improvements include pavement widening, adding turn lanes, replacing existing signals, adding pedestrian facilities, ditch grading and making storm sewer improvements. <\/p>\n Update: Bee Cave City Council approved a funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the improvements in October. There is currently no projected timeline as a resolution of support is required by TxDOT prior to finalizing the Advanced Funding Agreement.<\/p>\n Timeline: TBD<\/p>\n Cost: $2.8 million (city), $3.7 million (state) <\/p>\n Funding source: City of Bee Cave (Bee Cave Parkway), TxDOT (Hamilton Pool Road and Hwy. 71)<\/p>\n MoPac South expansion<\/a><\/p>\n Project: The project includes adding express lanes from Cesar Chavez Street to Slaughter Lane alongside shared-use paths, according to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.<\/p>\n Update: The cost for the project increased by more than $400 million, per documents from a CTRMA board of directors meeting presentation in July.<\/p>\n Timeline: TBD<\/p>\n Cost: $1.3 billion<\/p>\n Funding source: TBD<\/p>\n Ongoing projects<\/p>\n Bee Creek Road improvements<\/a><\/p>\n Project: Bee Creek Road, from Lakehurst Road to Highlands Boulevard, will be widened to include a divided, two-lane roadway with a two-way left turn lane, shoulders and a shared-use path on one side.<\/p>\n Update: Design work is expected to be completed at the end of 2026.<\/p>\n Courtyard Drive\/RM 2222<\/a><\/p>\n Project: The project will include removing the traffic signal from the Loop 360 mainlanes at Courtyard Drive and constructing an overpass, reconfiguring RM 2222 at Loop 360 to a Diverging Diamond Interchange, and adding shared-use paths and sidewalks.<\/p>\n Update: TxDOT officials broke ground on the project April 29. Work will take place across four phases. <\/p>\n Timeline: 2026-29<\/p>\n Cost: $68.4 million<\/p>\n Funding source: TxDOT, city of Austin 2016 mobility bond<\/p>\n
