{"id":481813,"date":"2026-10-30T22:34:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-30T22:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/481813\/"},"modified":"2026-10-30T22:34:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T22:34:08","slug":"plano-isd-declares-two-properties-surplus-plano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/481813\/","title":{"rendered":"Plano ISD declares two properties surplus | Plano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After tabling <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/plano\/education\/plano-isd-officials-table-consideration-of-2-surplus-properties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">consideration<\/a> of two potentially surplus properties in early October, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pisd.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Plano ISD<\/a> officials took the next step toward selling them.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pisd.edu\/about-our-district\/board-of-trustees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">board of trustees<\/a> unanimously approved declaring two properties surplus\u2014one used as staff offices and another undeveloped tract\u2014during the Oct. 27 <a href=\"https:\/\/pisd.community.diligentoneplatform.com\/document\/103014\/?printPdf=true&amp;lastModified=639283828371570000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">work session<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What to know<\/p>\n<p>The first property includes two suites within the Pebble Creek Professional Building, which is located along Coit Road near Pebblecreek Court. The district previously acquired the property for $1.75 million in 2005, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/pisd.community.diligentoneplatform.com\/document\/103016\/?lastModified=639287101859270000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">district documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The suites have most recently been used as temporary offices for around 20 PISD staff members. Johnny Hill, PISD\u2019s deputy superintendent for business, employee services and technology, said during the Oct. 6 meeting that the district has room to accommodate the staff at other facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The second property totals 9.96 acres and is located at the northeast corner of Coit Road and Frankford Road. PISD officials purchased the property for nearly $5.21 million in 2015, and it remains undeveloped, per district documents.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward<\/p>\n<p>The declaration of the properties as surplus was the first step in moving forward with a potential sale.
