With the holidays approaching, the city has opened two seasonal programs aimed at convenience and cheer: a free package-holding service through the Sachse Police Department and registration for the 2nd Annual Sachse Trail of Lights.<\/p>\n
The police department\u2019s Holiday Package Service, which began Nov. 5, allows residents to ship online orders directly to police rather than their doorstep to reduce the risk of theft. Packages will be accepted through Dec. 22 and must be picked up by Dec. 22, 2025. The service is free to Sachse residents.<\/p>\n
To participate, residents should not send packages over 50 pounds or items such as prescriptions or other drugs, weapons, fragile goods, or high-value merchandise. Registration and full guidelines are available at cityofsachse.com\/749\/Holiday-Package-Service.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the city is inviting residents to help light up local streets by joining the Sachse Trail of Lights. From Nov. 5 through Dec. 10, homeowners can submit their decorated address and a photo to be included on an interactive map that will launch Dec. 12. The self-guided map highlights residential displays across Sachse and will also feature participating local businesses offering holiday specials along the route.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s inaugural Trail of Lights showcased 16 homes and seven businesses and drew hundreds of views from families looking for festive stops. City officials say every style\u2014from a simple strand of lights to synchronized shows\u2014adds to the community display.<\/p>\n
Residents can submit entries and upload photos at cityofsachse.com\/TrailofLights by Dec. 10. The interactive map goes live Dec. 12.
