Friday marked the busiest day of early voting in Harris County, with more than 126,000 people casting ballots in person.<\/p>\n
With Election Day approaching, candidates across Texas are making their final campaign stops and asking voters for their support.<\/p>\n

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton stopped in Houston, where he focused on the rising cost of everyday expenses, including gas, groceries and electricity.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything costs more, gas, groceries, electricity, everything\u2019s up except our paychecks,\u201d Paxton told supporters.<\/p>\n
Paxton also outlined his plan to lower costs for families and help Texans afford homes and healthcare.<\/p>\n
Governor Greg Abbott campaigned in Amarillo and Laredo, focusing on border security, property taxes and affordability. Abbott also urged supporters to encourage others to vote.<\/p>\n
\u201cAffordability is a major issue, yes. But, our values and what\u2019s happening in our state,\u201d Abbott said, pointing to what he described as major differences between himself and his opponents.<\/p>\n
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa and U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico also campaigned together in Houston.<\/p>\n
Hinojosa focused on property taxes and government accountability, criticizing Abbott over rising costs.<\/p>\n
\u201cProperty taxes have increased 85% under Greg Abbott,\u201d Hinojosa said.<\/p>\n
Talarico focused on campaign finance reform, saying he wants to limit the influence of wealthy donors and corporate money in elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m gonna vote to ban corporate PACs and super PACs so billionaires can\u2019t buy our elections,\u201d Talarico said.<\/p>\n
What voters need to know before Election Day<\/p>\n
Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth reminds voters to bring an acceptable form of photo identification and check their sample ballots before heading to the polls.<\/p>\n
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
Harris County voters can cast their ballots at any county vote center.<\/p>\n
