The Nov. 3 midterm election is days away. If you are a college student who will be voting on Election Day, here are a few things to keep in mind.<\/p>\n
Most public college campuses across San Antonio have assigned polling locations. But Bexar County residents are able to vote at any vote center<\/a> on Election Day.<\/p>\n It\u2019s important to note that student identification cards are not accepted at the polls; acceptable forms of identification in Texas<\/a> include a state-issued ID or driver\u2019s license, a handgun license,\u00a0 a Texas election identification certificate, or a federally issued passport, military ID or citizenship certificate with photo.\u00a0<\/p>\n Students who are registered in a different Texas county had the option to request a limited ballot to vote in person in Bexar County, but this was only available during early voting. If you skipped early voting, another option for out-of-county voters is a provisional ballot.\u00a0<\/p>\n Provisional ballots<\/a> are mostly used for voters who declare that they are registered to vote but their information is not found in the county and state records. These ballots are submitted for approval to an elections board and the voter is notified within 30 days whether their vote was counted.\u00a0<\/p>\n Provisional ballots are available during early voting and on Election Day and can be requested at any polling location.\u00a0<\/p>\n Voters who request a provisional ballot are asked to fill out a form, and their ballot will be placed in an envelope instead of the tabulator machine to be delivered to elections officials for review.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n If you are planning to vote on Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3, these are some of the polling locations across San Antonio college campuses. All polling locations are open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n UT San Antonio<\/a>: The Bexar Room, H-E-B Student Union, HSU 1.102. The university is providing short-term parking for voters in the Ximenes parking lot.\u00a0<\/p>\n Texas A&M University-San Antonio<\/a>: Mays Center, Science and Technology Building, Suite 111.<\/p>\n Northeast Lakeview College<\/a>: Medina CTE Center, Building 800, Room 104.<\/p>\n Northwest Vista College<\/a>: Mountain Laurel Hall, Room 117.<\/p>\n Palo Alto College<\/a>: Palomino Center, Room 110.<\/p>\n San Antonio College<\/a>: Victory Center,\u00a0 Room 117.<\/p>\n St. Philip\u2019s College<\/a>: Watson Fine Arts Center, Morgan Gallery, Room 100.<\/p>\n Although the polls close at 7 p.m., those who are in line by then are allowed to cast their ballots.\u00a0<\/p>\n The San Antonio Report has also put together a comprehensive voter guide<\/a> to help you prepare for this midterm election, as well as the top races to watch<\/a> and a guide to help you find your individual sample ballot<\/a>.<\/p>\n
