ARLINGTON, Texas \u2013 Tennessee State women’s basketball wraps up its two-game Texas road swing Friday evening with a matchup at UT Arlington. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. inside the College Park Center as the Lady Tigers look to bounce back and close their Lone Star trip on a strong note.<\/p>\n
Tennessee State (0-3) enters Friday’s contest following a tough outing at TCU. Freshman Amiyah Ferguson<\/a> led the Lady Tigers with 13 points in the loss, while Aaniya Webb<\/a> and Xai’Onna Whitfield added six and eight points, respectively. TSU continues to emphasize rebounding and defensive growth early in the season, ranking among OVC leaders in offensive boards and blocked shots.<\/p>\n Under second-year head coach Candice Dupree<\/a>, Tennessee State has shown flashes of balance and resilience. Whitfield and Webb remain key offensive catalysts, while Erin Martin<\/a> provides interior defense and rebounding. Sophomore guard Somah Kamara<\/a> continues to facilitate the offense, and newcomers Ferguson, Brianna Wooldridge<\/a>, and Kaliyah Montoya<\/a> add athleticism and scoring depth.<\/p>\n UT Arlington (1-1) returns home after splitting its first two games of the season.
