(OnScene,  Copyright 2026 by KPRC Click2Houston &#8211; All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">HARRIS COUNTY, Texas \u2013 The Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office Homicide Division is investigating the death of a 23-year-old man as a death in custody following a chase in northwest Harris County, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Pct. 4 Constable\u2019s Office deputies responded to a family disturbance at a home on Carols Way Drive around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The man was outside when they arrived and ran. Deputies pursued him for about a block, where he pulled out a handgun and shot himself, according to investigators. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">\u201cThe sheriff\u2019s office Homicide Division is investigating this case as a death in custody due to the circumstances,\u201d HCSO Sgt. Jason Brown said at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-dLMFU sc-fHjqPf jbiTJv kYFPaL article-text\">Investigators said there is no indication that deputies fired their weapons.
