Tours of the sixth Latter-day Saint temple in Texas officially kicked off Monday with tours for the media.<\/p>\n

Free public tours of the Fort Worth Texas Temple<\/a> of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will follow every Monday through Saturday starting this Thursday, Nov. 5, through Saturday, Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

Guests of all faiths and ages will be welcome to tour the newest Texas temple<\/a> at this time.<\/p>\n

Following the open house, the Fort Worth temple will be dedicated for operation in January 2027, becoming the church\u2019s second operating temple<\/a> in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area. See details, photos and video of the temple below.<\/p>\n

About the Fort Worth Texas Temple<\/p>\n

The newly built Fort Worth Texas Temple is a single-story building of about 30,000 square feet.<\/p>\n

It is situated on a 9.37-acre site located in Burleson, Texas, just south of Fort Worth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Plans to build the Fort Worth temple were first announced on Oct. 3, 2021<\/a>, during the faith\u2019s semiannual general conference. Construction of the temple then began with groundbreaking services held in October 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis temple will enable those to attend a temple nearby who have made the long trip to Dallas for many years,\u201d said local church member Vicki Svendsen at the temple\u2019s groundbreaking services<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Fort Worth Texas Temple reflects the region\u2019s Spanish Colonial architecture and artistry, per a press release<\/a> published on ChurchofJesusChrist.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatterns inspired by Spanish lace and an interlocking of quatrefoils appear throughout the temple,\u201d the release states. \u201cDecorative arches, custom metalwork and art glass details reflect the local heritage and agriculture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Multiple original art pieces are also found throughout the temple, including \u201cTexas Bluebonnets and Longhorn Cattle\u201d by Texas native Matthew Grant and \u201cQuiet Sunset on the Paluxy River\u201d by Kimball Geisler.<\/p>\n
