After years of construction, the Texas Department of Transportation this week confirmed that two new flyover ramps are set to open on one of the North Side\u2019s highest-traffic areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ramps will connect drivers traveling eastbound on I-10 to direct access to both eastbound and westbound Loop 1604. The ramps will open at 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, TxDOT said in a tweet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSmoother, safer commutes ahead,\u201d the state agency said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ramps are part of the massive I-10\/Loop 1604 project. Once completed, the project will include a fully directional, five-level interchange.\u00a0The finished project is expected to decrease travel times by 80 mins while increasing capacity and access to HOV lanes, according to TxDOT\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ramps will be the seventh set of flyovers TxDot opened at the site, with the final expected to be completed next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
