PLANO, Texas \u2014 As a major department store retailer prepares to close a store in The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano<\/a>, filings with the Texas Workforce Commission show the retailer plans to lay off nearly 100 employees as part of the closure.<\/p>\n The Dillard’s Clearance Center store in The Shops at Willow Bend this week announced its intent to close, with signage posted thanking customers \u201cfor the memories\u201d and directing them to other North Texas locations.\u00a0<\/p>\n According to filings with the Texas Workforce Commission, 93 employees are expected to be laid off as a result.<\/p>\n In a letter filed with the Texas Workforce Commission, Dillard’s said the store will cease operation and close no earlier than Jan. 12, 2026, and no later than Jan. 25, 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n “All employees will be terminated on a date no earlier than Jan. 12, 2026 and no later than Jan. 25, 2026,” the letter reads. “We anticipate that the facility closing will be permanent.”<\/p>\n Dillard’s has had a presence in the shopping center since it opened nearly 25 years ago. The store’s closure comes after it was announced in September that Neiman Marcus will close its store in the Shops at Willow Bend<\/a> as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
