BROOKSHIRE, Texas \u2013 A planned Tesla manufacturing facility in Brookshire is projected to bring at least 1,500 jobs to the Houston area, according to a report by the Houston Business Journal<\/a>, and Tesla\u2019s own careers site<\/a> which shows the company is recruiting manufacturing roles for the Brookshire location.<\/p>\n

The Business Journal reported last week that the project \u2014 described by local officials and economic development sources as a large-scale manufacturing campus \u2014 is expected to create a minimum of 1,500 positions once operations ramp up. Tesla\u2019s public careers search for manufacturing positions<\/a> in Brookshire, Texas, lists openings and an application portal for candidates seeking roles at the site.<\/p>\n

Brookshire, in Waller County about 30 miles west of downtown Houston, has been the focus of regional efforts to attract large industrial projects that can boost employment and local tax revenues. Officials have said attracting manufacturing investment is a priority for the county and surrounding communities, which could see expanded demand for housing, services and transportation infrastructure as the facility moves toward operation.<\/p>\n

Applications for current manufacturing postings for the Brookshire location are available through Tesla\u2019s careers website. Further details are expected as local permitting and project announcements progress.<\/p>\n
