CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 The 10th annual S.H.A.R.E. Thanksgiving Meal brought hundreds of Kingsville residents together Thursday at the Methodist Community Life Center, continuing a decade-long tradition of serving families in need.<\/p>\n
Volunteers spent the morning cooking turkeys that had been brined and seasoned overnight, while others prepared mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans and other holiday staples. Organizers said the event typically serves up to 800 residents each year.<\/p>\n
Robert Zavala, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3389, said the gathering reflects a partnership of local churches working to support the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst of all, it is a commemoration of churches from the community altogether and we are all putting it on together \u2014 you know, Baptist, Catholic and so forth,\u201d Zavala said. \u201cIt\u2019s important because it is helping the less fortunate people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event has become a cornerstone of the holiday season for Kingsville, offering warm meals and fellowship as families prepare for Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n
