\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA project outside of Selma’s Retama Park<\/a> is now complete, while other projects are currently ongoing across the Northeast San Antonio Metrocom.<\/p>\n

Completed projects<\/p>\n

Retama Parkway Reconstruction<\/p>\n

Project: Construction added approximately 4,500 linear feet<\/a> of roadway with 6-foot sidewalks and bike lanes along Retama Parkway. The project also included right-of-way improvements to portions of Alton Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Update: The project was completed Nov. 4, reopening the intersection of Retama Parkway and Lookout Road.<\/p>\n

Timeline: October 2024-November 2025<\/p>\n

Cost: $5.31 million<\/p>\n

Funding source: city sales tax<\/p>\n

Ongoing projects<\/p>\n

FY25 Street Rehabilitation Package II<\/p>\n

Project: The project will reconstruct<\/a> Firebird Run, Silver Wing and Town Creek Road in Cibolo.<\/p>\n

Update: According to the city\u2019s Public Works Department<\/a>, Silver Wing from Cibolo Valley Drive to Thistle Creek was completed Nov. 3. Town Creek Road from Green Valley Road to Bentwood Pass will be completed Feb. 21, 2026. Construction on Firebird Run from Silver Wing to Kipper Avenue will begin in early January. During construction, roads will be closed to through traffic, with local access maintained for residents.<\/p>\n

Timeline: September 2025-May 2026<\/p>\n

Cost: $3.1 million<\/p>\n

Funding source: fiscal year 2025 Certificate of Obligation Bonds<\/p>\n

I-35 NEX Central<\/p>\n

Project: The project will add three elevated lanes<\/a>\u2014two general-purpose and one high-occupancy vehicle\u2014in each direction along 9.5 miles of Northeast San Antonio. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the new lanes will connect directly to Loop 410 North and Loop 1604 West to improve travel time.<\/p>\n

Update: As of Nov. 6, the project<\/a> has now passed 60% completion, according to a TxDOT news release.<\/p>\n

Timeline: June 2022-late 2027<\/p>\n

Cost: $1.5 billion<\/p>\n

Funding source: TxDOT<\/p>\n

Upcoming projects<\/p>\n

Tolle Road Reconstruction<\/p>\n

Project: The full-depth reconstruction<\/a> of Tolle Road calls for new pavement as well as a slight widening of the road and installation of new drainage structures, according to Cibolo City Council agenda documents. The project would provide a 20-year service life for the pavement.<\/p>\n

Update: On Oct. 27, Cibolo City Council approved a change order of $93,830 with civil engineer Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam<\/a> for additional professional services on the project.<\/p>\n

Timeline: TBD<\/p>\n

Cost: $7 million<\/p>\n

Funding source: Capital Improvement Plan bonds<\/p>\n
