CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A longtime downtown favorite welcomed guests back Thursday night as Cassidy\u2019s Irish Pub celebrated the grand re-opening of its newly renovated space on Water Street.<\/p>\n
The pub, which never fully closed during construction, used funds from the Downtown TIRZ streetscape reimbursement program to help with upgrades inside and out. Owner Michael Treiber said nearly every part of the venue was refreshed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe flooring, the ceiling, the walls, all new paint, all new tile, new carpet. The outside has been completely ripped off and redid the whole new facade, new stucco, new lighting outside, new speakers, new cameras, and literally everything has been redone,\u201d Treiber said.<\/p>\n
Despite the extensive work, he emphasized that the signature feel of the historic Irish pub remains intact. \u201cIt still has the same charm that it used to but it\u2019s just a little shinier and newer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The renovations were completed ahead of next year\u2019s St. Patrick\u2019s Day festival, one of Cassidy\u2019s signature annual events. Until then, the pub is inviting the community to stop by and check out its refreshed look — and enjoy a pint.<\/p>\n
